Lace Up Corset

Corsets - Contour Your Curves
As anyone who knows a little about the history of corsets should understand, fashions come in and out of style like seasons of the year. It is inevitable because there are only so many options for clothing. Therefore, styles change and get recycled in a new way years, and sometimes even centuries, later. The corset was a fashion-must in the 1800s when women wore them to ensure their curves were just voluptuous enough and in the right places.
Today, the 21st century has a different role for the corset, but the most important reason to wear one is still to create desirable curves and give support. The traditional purpose, as an undergarment, is being disputed today as designers challenge people to wear it all on its own. This is what tends to create the difficulty of choosing which of the many corset styles are right for you.
Corsets in the 1800s were fairly standard. Every single one was intended for the same purpose, so there were limited variations. Ribbons were used to pull at varying levels of tightness to sculpt those curves to look just right. Ribbons were used because they laid flat under the outerwear. Today there are two styles of corsets. One can be worn on its own while the other is made to go beneath clothing. There are a few things to consider when trying to select the right one for you.
The first obvious question is do you want to wear your corset alone or as a way to contour your body beneath your outer layers? Ones to be worn alone usually have more lace, intense colors, three-dimensional flanges or other intricacies that would only get in the way if they were worn beneath clothes. Choosing the right material is important to consider depending on your personal preferences and where you live. If you live in a cold place, a little heavier fabric will ensure you stay warm. In hot climates, thinner corsets are the way to go and ones constructed with PVC will have a greater tendency to rub and make wearing it uncomfortable.
To both look and feel great in your corset, be sure to go for something streamlined and light colored if you plan to wear it under a shirt. If your thoughts run more toward wearing your corset alone, go for broke with designs, patterns, lace and whatever else you want. Your curves will be beautifully accentuated with the selection of the proper style of fitting corsets.

how to lace up back Laced Corset by yourself?
Most proper corsets lace up the back and this can be difficult to do your self. In most period style movies you see the maid lacing the lady into the corset. However, it is not impossible, I lace myself in and can now do it in under 5 minutes. Have a look at this video, really good instruction,
The only thing that I tend to do that is extra to this is to place the lace end loops over a door handle or similar. As the laces tighten I walk forward to take up the slack, this leaves 2 hands free to tighten the corset.
Edit: Sorry I am having a problem adding the video link. If I can't get it up (I will try later) then please email me if you want the link and I will send it to you
